For the Extreme Heat Watch, dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 105 possible. * WHERE...Broome, Chemung, Chenango, Cortland, Madison, Onondaga, Schuyler, Seneca, Southern Cayuga, Southern Oneida, Steuben, Tioga, Tompkins, and Yates Counties. * WHEN...For the Heat Advisory, from noon to 8 PM EDT Tuesday. For the Extreme Heat Watch, from Wednesday morning through Friday evening. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The hottest temperatures will be in urban valley locations during the mid to late afternoon period. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
