...COASTAL FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON SUNDAY TO 6 PM EDT MONDAY... * WHAT...1 1/2 to 2 1/2 ft of inundation above ground level possible in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline for the for the Sunday afternoon, Sunday Night and Monday afternoon high tide cycles. * WHERE...In New Jersey, Hudson, Eastern Bergen, Eastern Essex and Eastern Union Counties. In New York, New York (Manhattan), Richmond (Staten Island) and Kings (Brooklyn) Counties. * WHEN...From noon Sunday to 6 PM EDT Monday, around the times of high tide. * COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS...Moderate coastal flooding expected, with 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 ft of inundation above ground level in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline. This would result in several road closures and flooding of numerous low lying properties including parking lots, parks, lawns and homes/businesses with basements near the waterfront. Vehicles parked in vulnerable areas near the waterfront will likely become flooded. Flooding will also extend well inland from the waterfront along tidal rivers and bays, such as the Hudson, Hackensack, and Passaic Rivers. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. If travel is required, do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. && Time of high total tides are approximate to the nearest hour.
