* WHAT...For the Small Craft Advisory, southwest winds 10 to 20 kt
with gusts up to 30 kt and seas 3 to 5 feet expected. For the
Gale Watch, winds 30 to 40 kt with gusts up to 45 kt and seas 8
to 13 feet possible. Wind direction south to southwest Thursday
night, becoming more southwest to west on Friday.

* WHERE...Sandy Hook NJ to Fire Island Inlet NY out 20 nm.

* WHEN...For the Small Craft Advisory, until 11 PM EST this
evening. For the Gale Watch, from Thursday evening through
Friday evening.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds can cause hazardous seas which could
capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners should consider altering plans to avoid possible
hazardous conditions.  Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter
course, and/or secure the vessel for severe wind and seas.
