At 225 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Pierrepont to near Fine to near Carthage. Movement was southeast at 60 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Tupper Lake Village, Clare, Colton, Tupper Lake, Piercefield, Clifton, Fowler, Russell, Pitcairn, Edwards, Newcomb, Fine, Minerva, Hermon, Rossie, Pierrepont, Harrietstown, Conifer, Talcville, and South Edwards. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside.
