Bands of heavy snow will continue to move across much of the Mid Hundson Valley this evening, reducing visibility to less than a quarter of a mile at times with snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour. Be prepared for difficult travel due to the high snowfall rates, low visibilities, and snow covered roads. Travel is not recommended this evening. If travel is necessary, slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination.

...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM EST SATURDAY... * WHAT...Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations between 5 and 8 inches. * WHERE...Portions of western Massachusetts and east central and eastern New York. * WHEN...Until 1 PM EST Saturday. * IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses will quickly become slick and hazardous. Travel could become difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Moderate to heavy snow will develop early this evening and will continue overnight, gradually decreasing in intensity after midnight. Snowfall rates of one to two inches an hour will be possible at times through midnight. The snow will taper off Saturday morning to scattered snow showers and flurries. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. &&
