For the Gale Watch, southwest winds to 45 knots shifting to the west and waves 15 to 19 feet possible. * WHERE...The nearshore waters of Lake Ontario from Hamlin Beach to the Saint Lawrence River. * WHEN...For the Small Craft Advisory, from 7 PM this evening to 7 AM EST Monday. For the Gale Watch, from Monday morning through late Tuesday night. * IMPACTS...Strong winds can cause hazardous waves which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners should consider altering plans to avoid possible hazardous conditions. ...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 AM EST SUNDAY... ...WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY EVENING THROUGH WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON... * WHAT...For the Winter Weather Advisory, snow expected. Additional snow accumulations 3 to 6 inches. For the Winter Storm Watch, heavy lake effect snow possible. Potential for 7 inches or more snow accumulation in the most persistent lake snows. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph creating blowing and drifting snow with very poor visibilities. * WHERE...For the advisory, greatest snow accumulations will be found across far southern Jefferson County, southwestern Lewis County and the eastern half of Oswego County. For the Watch, The Eastern Lake Ontario Region, especially the Tug Hill Plateau. * WHEN...For the Winter Weather Advisory, until 1 AM EST Sunday. For the Winter Storm Watch, from Sunday evening through Wednesday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning and evening commutes. Lake snows within the watch timeframe could lead to deep snow covered roads with difficult travel. Gusty winds could down tree branches and cause isolated power outages. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Periods of snow will result in slippery roads and limited visibilities.
