* Flash Flood Warning for...
Central Inyo County in south central California...
Southeastern Esmeralda County in south central Nevada...
West Central Nye County in south central Nevada...

* Until 1030 PM PDT.

* At 736 PM PDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or
expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Life-threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
producing flash flooding.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Life-threatening flash flooding of low-water
crossings, creeks, normally dry washes and roads.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Stovepipe Wells, Furnace Creek, Mesquite Springs Campground,
Scottys Castle and Scottys Junction.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
Flash flooding is also possible over recent burn scar areas
including the Jakes, Midas, Cottonwood Peak, Adobe, Sheep Creek
Canyon, Big Butte, Hot Canyon, Chin Creek, Summit, and other
recently burned areas.

* WHERE...Portions of eastern, north central, northeast, and south
central Nevada, including the following areas, in eastern Nevada,
White Pine. In north central Nevada, Northern Lander and Northern
Eureka and Southern Lander and Southern Eureka. In northeast
Nevada, Northern Elko, Ruby Mountains and East Humboldt Range in
Elko, South Central Elko, Southeastern Elko and Southwest Elko. In
south central Nevada, Northeastern Nye and Northwestern Nye.

* WHEN...Through Wednesday evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations
including burn scars.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of central Nevada, including the following
county, Nye.

* WHEN...Until 815 PM PDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 401 PM PDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.4 and 0.8 inches of
rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.2 to 0.4 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Manhattan.
