Waves 1 to 4 feet for Pyramid Lake. * WHERE...Western Nevada Basin and Range including Pyramid Lake. * WHEN...From 2 PM to 11 PM PDT Monday. * IMPACTS...Small boats, kayaks and paddle boards will be prone to capsizing and should remain off lake waters until conditions improve. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Check lake conditions before heading out and be prepared for a sudden increase in winds and wave heights. ...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM TO 11 PM PDT MONDAY FOR GUSTY WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY FOR THE WEST HUMBOLDT BASIN IN PERSHING COUNTY... The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a Red Flag Warning for gusty winds and low humidity, which is in effect from 2 PM to 11 PM PDT Monday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. * CHANGES...Fire Weather Watch upgraded to Red Flag Warning. * Affected Area...Fire Weather Zone 423 West Humboldt Basin in Pershing County, including the Quartz Fire. * Winds...West-southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. * Humidity...RH reductions to 10-15% in the afternoon. Overnight recoveries of 30-50% Tuesday morning. * Duration...2 to 6 hours. * Impacts...The combination of gusty winds and low humidity can cause fire to rapidly grow in size and intensity before first responders can contain them.
