Total snow accumulations between 2 to 8 inches with locally higher amounts of 5 to 9 inches possible. Winds gusting as high as 55 mph causing areas of blowing and drifting snow. * WHERE...Northern Lander and Northern Eureka, Southern Lander and Southern Eureka, Humboldt, and Northwestern Nye Counties. * WHEN...From 1 PM Monday to 10 PM PST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday evening and Tuesday morning commutes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches and reduce visibility to one mile or less due to blowing snow. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Slow down and use caution while traveling. ...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 8 AM MONDAY TO 10 PM PST TUESDAY... * WHAT...Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected. * WHERE...White Pine, Southern Lander and Southern Eureka, Northeastern Nye, and Northwestern Nye Counties. * WHEN...From 8 AM Monday to 10 PM PST Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Patchy blowing dust will reduce visibility to one mile or less in spots. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Winds will diminish Monday night to below advisory thresholds but are expected to strengthen during the early morning hours on Tuesday.
