...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY EVENING THROUGH LATE
TUESDAY NIGHT...
...POTENTIAL FOR LIFE THREATENING FLASH FLOODING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Areas along and east of the central mountain chain,
including the east slopes of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains,
Glorieta Pass, the Estancia Valley and Basin, and eastern Lincoln
County eastward to the TX border. Some metro areas and locales
include Raton, Las Vegas, Moriarty, Clayton, Santa Rosa, Tucumcari,
Fort Sumner, Clovis, Portales, and Roswell.

* WHEN...From Monday evening through late Tuesday night.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Low-water crossings
may be flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- A near-record to record surge of moisture combined with two
merging storm systems will bring a prolonged multi-day period of
showers and thunderstorms producing moderate to heavy rainfall.
Combined with already rain-soaked soil, there is a moderate to
high risk of flash flooding.
- Low-lying, poorly drained areas, urban areas and arroyo systems,
and burn scars will be most susceptible. Rivers and streams will
see rises, potentially reaching flood stage.
