...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON MDT TODAY THROUGH LATE
TONIGHT...

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Much of central and northern New Mexico, including the
Albuquerque and Santa Fe metro areas and the Hermits Peak Calf
Canyon burn scar.

* WHEN...From noon MDT today through late tonight.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Numerous showers and storms will develop across the higher
terrain late this morning, expanding in coverage across
central and northern New Mexico through the afternoon and
evening. Heavy rainfall rates of one to three inches per hour
are possible at times. Heavy rainfall over the Hermits Peak
Calf Canyon burn scar may create flooding on and below the
burn area. In addition, heavy rainfall in the Albuquerque and
Santa Fe metro areas may create rapid rises on area arroyos
and flood control channels. Heavy rain from thunderstorms are
expected to last well into tonight and early Wednesday
morning across central New Mexico.
