At 456 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a line of strong thunderstorms extending from 14 miles southeast of Wagon Mound to 6 miles south of Wagon Mound, moving south at 15 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Maes. This includes Interstate 25 between Mile Markers 377 and 385. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening weather conditions. In northeast New Mexico, Eastern San Miguel County, Far Northeast Highlands, Harding County and Northeast Highlands. This includes the Hermits Peak-Calf Canyon wildfire burn scar area. * WHEN...Through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Atmospheric moisture will increase over northern and northeastern areas as a weak frontal boundary moves in from the northwest. Numerous storms capable of very heavy rainfall will develop, increasing the risk of excessive runoff and flash flooding.
