In east central New Mexico, Curry County and Roosevelt County. In southeast New Mexico, Chaves County Plains and Southwest Chaves County. * WHEN...Through this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A swath of heavy rain over the past 24 hours from near Ruidoso through Roswell up to Clovis of 2 to 6 inches of rain will allow any new storm passing over this area to threaten flash flooding through today and this evening. - Rapid runoff and flash flooding will be most likely in complex terrain, below recent burn scars, low-lying areas, urban areas, normally dry arroyos, near rivers and streams, and in locations where the ground is already saturated from recent heavy rainfall. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
