...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 1030 PM MDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Central Santa Fe County in north central New Mexico... * WHEN...Until 1030 PM MDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 424 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Up to 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1.5 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... ...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 845 PM MDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Central Santa Fe County in north central New Mexico... * WHEN...Until 845 PM MDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 250 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated light-to-moderate rain over locations that received around 2 inches of rain Monday and Monday night. Flooding is ongoing in Arroyo Hondo, and expected to occur in other drainages. Up to 0.3 inches of rain have fallen today. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1.25 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... ...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE TONIGHT... ...POTENTIAL FOR LIFE THREATENING FLASH FLOODING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of central, eastern, and western New Mexico. * WHEN...Through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A near-record to record surge of moisture combined with two merging storm systems will bring a prolonged multi-day period of showers and thunderstorms producing moderate to heavy rainfall. Combined with already rain-soaked soil, there is a moderate to high risk of flash flooding. - Low-lying, poorly drained areas, urban areas and arroyo systems will be most susceptible. Rivers and streams will see rises, potentially reaching flood stage.
