...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH LATE
TUESDAY NIGHT...
...POTENTIAL FOR LIFE THREATENING FLASH FLOODING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Areas along and west of the central mountain chain
including the west slopes of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, the
Sandia/Manzano Mountains, and the south-central mountains, as well
as the Rio Grande Valley westward to the Arizona border. Some metro
areas and locales include, Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Espanola, Taos,
Socorro, Ruidoso, Los Alamos, Grants, Gallup, and Farmington.

* WHEN...From Monday afternoon through late Tuesday night.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- A near-record to record surge of moisture combined with two
merging storm systems will bring a prolonged multi-day period of
showers and thunderstorms producing moderate to heavy rainfall.
Combined with already rain-soaked soil, there is a moderate to
high risk of flash flooding.
- Low-lying, poorly drained areas, urban areas and arroyo systems
will be most susceptible. Rivers and streams will see rises,
potentially reaching flood stage. Recent burn scars may see flash
flooding, including the Ruidoso area burn scars, Frijoles,
Sacaton, Hummingbird, and Whiskey burn scars.
