* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central Otero County in southern New Mexico.

* WHEN...Until 1015 PM MDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 810 PM MDT, Thunderstorms with heavy rainfall are pushing
into the western slopes of the Sacramento Mountains. Doppler
radar indicates up to an inch of rain has fallen east of
US-54 east of the Boles Acres and Oliver Lee State Park area.
- Some locations that may experience flooding include...

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain.
Arroyos, streams, and rivers can become raging killer currents in a
matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall.

Mexico.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 743 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms over the Otero Mesa. This will cause arroyo and
small stream flooding, particularly along back roads/
