...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 415 PM MDT THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Southwestern Otero County in south central New Mexico... Northwestern Hudspeth County in western Texas... * WHEN...Until 415 PM MDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 212 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. - Additional rainfall of up to 0.5 inches is expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... ...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of south central and southwest New Mexico, including the following areas, in south central New Mexico, East Central Tularosa Basin/Alamogordo, East Slopes Sacramento Mountains Below 7500 Feet, Northern Dona Ana County, Otero Mesa, Sacramento Mountains Above 7500 Feet, Sierra County Lakes, Southeast Tularosa Basin, Southern Dona Ana County/Mesilla Valley, West Central Tularosa Basin/White Sands and West Slopes Sacramento Mountains Below 7500 Feet. In southwest New Mexico, Eastern Black Range Foothills. * WHEN...Through this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A late season plume of deep tropical moisture is transported northward ahead of an upper-level disturbance, bringing several rounds of thunderstorms with high rainfall rates to the region through this evening.
