...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 715 PM MDT FOR
NORTHERN LINCOLN COUNTY...

At 657 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 18 miles southeast
of Corona. This storm was stationary.

HAZARD...Ping pong ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect wind
damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Mainly rural areas of Northern Lincoln County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from
windows. This storm is capable of producing damaging winds and large
hail.

Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. Seek shelter
immediately in an interior room on the lowest floor of a well-built
structure.

Heavy rains from severe thunderstorms can produce sudden and
dangerous flows in arroyos, ditches and over low water crossings. Do
not attempt to drive through areas where water covers the roadway.

FOR CENTRAL LINCOLN COUNTY...

At 617 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain across the warned area. Up to 1.75 inches of rain have fallen.
Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.75 inches are possible in the
warned area. Flash flooding is likely ongoing.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
White Oaks.

This includes Highway 380 between Mile Markers 60 and 63.

Dangerous water levels are expected in Tortolita Creek, Nogal Arroyo,
and eventually Cottonwood Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Both localized and distant heavy rainfall will create sudden and
dangerous flows in arroyos and over low water crossings.
