...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT SATURDAY AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...The South Central Mountains including the Ruidoso area burn
scars.

* WHEN...Saturday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be
flooded. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Scattered thunderstorms across the South Central Mountains will
be capable of producing rainfall rates in excess of 1 inch per
hour over and downstream of recent burn scars Saturday afternoon.
The greatest concern exists over the South Fork burn scar. Storm
motion will be slow toward the west, though outflow boundaries
may cause storm motions to be erratic.
