...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1015 PM MDT THIS
EVENING FOR SOUTHEASTERN SANDOVAL AND WESTERN SANTA FE COUNTIES...

At 758 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have
fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Santo Domingo Pueblo, Kewa Pueblo, Madrid, San Felipe Pueblo and
Domingo.

This includes Interstate 25 between Mile Markers 254 and 264.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Arroyos, streams, and normally dry rivers can become raging killer
currents in a matter of minutes. Water in arroyos can travel many
miles and take hours to reach your location from upstream rain areas.

possible.

* WHERE...Portions of central, north central, northeast, and west
central New Mexico, including the following areas, in central New
Mexico, Central Highlands, Estancia Valley, Lower Rio Grande
Valley, Middle Rio Grande Valley including the Albuquerque Metro
Area, San Agustin Plains and Adjacent Lowlands, Sandia and Manzano
Mountains including Edgewood and South Central Highlands. In north
central New Mexico, Espanola Valley, Glorieta Mesa Including
Glorieta Pass, Jemez Mountains, Northern Sangre de Cristo
Mountains, Santa Fe Metro Area, Tusas Mountains Including Chama
and Upper Rio Grande Valley. In northeast New Mexico, Northeast
Highlands. In west central New Mexico, San Francisco River Valley
and Southwest Mountains.

* WHEN...Until midnight MDT tonight.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Slow-moving thunderstorms will be capable of producing heavy
rainfall, with rates of up to 1 inch per hour.
