In Pennsylvania, Upper Bucks, Western Chester, and Western Montgomery Counties. * WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Warm and very humid conditions at night will not offer much relief from the heat and humidity. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. At 532 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Butler to Summit to near Society Hill to near Mercerville-Hamilton Square, moving east at 30 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. This line of storms has a history of producing wind damage. SOURCE...Law enforcement. IMPACT...Damage to roofs, siding, trees, and power lines is possible. Locations impacted include... New Brunswick, Perth Amboy, Morristown, Somerville, Somerset, Edison, Old Bridge, East Brunswick, South Brunswick, Sayreville, North Brunswick, Carteret, Dover, Madison, Middlesex, Princeton, Florham Park, East Hanover, Lincoln Park, and Bound Brook. This includes the following highways... New Jersey Turnpike between exits 10 and 12. Interstate 78 in New Jersey between mile markers 33 and 42. Interstate 80 in New Jersey between mile markers 34 and 47. Interstate 287 in New Jersey between mile markers 0 and 18, and between mile markers 25 and 54. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1.5 to 2.5 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1.5 to 2.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.
