...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 815 AM EDT THIS MORNING... * WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Bergen County in northeastern New Jersey... Northern Essex County in northeastern New Jersey... Hudson County in northeastern New Jersey... Eastern Passaic County in northeastern New Jersey... New York (Manhattan) County in southeastern New York... * WHEN...Until 815 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 616 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... ...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON EDT TODAY... * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...Portions of northeast New Jersey, including the following areas, Eastern Bergen, Eastern Essex, Eastern Passaic, Eastern Union, Hudson, Western Bergen, Western Essex, Western Passaic and Western Union and southeast New York, including the following areas, Bronx, Kings (Brooklyn), New York (Manhattan), Northern Queens, Richmond (Staten Island), Southern Queens and Southern Westchester. * WHEN...Until noon EDT today. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding in poor drainage areas, rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Showers with heavy downpours and a few thunderstorms early Sunday morning into midday Sunday may lead to flooding. Average rainfall amounts are forecast to range from 1 to 2 inches. Locally higher amounts up to around 3 inches possible.
