Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 1.5 inches in 1 hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Paterson, Wayne, Paramus, West Milford, Ridgewood, Ramsey, Ringwood, Pompton Lakes, Caldwell, Hawthorne, Bloomingdale, Fairfield, Upper Greenwood Lake, Clifton, West Orange, Montclair, Fair Lawn, Livingston, Elmwood Park and Wyckoff. Overflowing poor drainage areas will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. - Rainfall amounts of 1 to 1.5 inches are expected. - Some locations that could experience flooding include... Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Rounds of heavy showers with embedded thunderstorms are expected through this afternoon with localized rainfall rates of 1" to possibly 2" per hour possible.
