...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1030 PM EDT THIS
EVENING FOR SOUTHEASTERN MONMOUTH COUNTY...

At 730 PM EDT, emergency management reported numerous road closures
along Ocean Avenue in Long Branch and a car stranded near Route 35 &
Clinton Ave in Eatontown due to flooding as the result of
thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall. Between 2 and 3.5 inches of
rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Emergency management reported.

IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other
drainage and low lying areas.

Some locations that may experience flash flooding include...
Long Branch, Asbury Park, Lakewood, Howell, Tinton Falls, Red
Bank, Farmingdale, Collingwood Park, Lincroft, Allenwood, Elberon
and Freewood Acres.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around...don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most
flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
