...A SNOW SQUALL IS OVER THE WATERS... The areas affected include... Sandy Hook NJ to Montauk Point out 40 NM... New York Harbor... Long Island South Shore Bays... At 632 AM EST, Doppler radar indicated a snow squall, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. This snow squall was located along a line extending from 9 nm south of Smithtown Bay to near Jones Beach to 11 nm northwest of Silverton, moving east at 40 knots. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners can expect brief whiteout conditions, a sudden wind shift to the northwest, gusty winds to around 30 knots and locally higher waves. &&
