...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Portions of central and south central Nebraska, including the following counties, in central Nebraska, Howard, Merrick and Sherman. In south central Nebraska, Adams, Buffalo, Franklin, Hall and Kearney. * WHEN...Until 700 PM CDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 306 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated widespread light to moderate rain across the Warning area. Although the very-heaviest rain from earlier in the night has since ended, extensive flooding issues will likely continue well into the daytime hours due to 3 to 8 inches of earlier rain, and the potential for another roughly one-half inch of rain before precipitation finally ends by around 5 or 6 AM. Flooding of several small creeks/streams and mainly rural county roads is likely, and it will take several hours for water levels to gradually fall. - This includes, but is not limited to, the following streams and drainages... Cow Creek, Oak Creek, Wood River, Beaver Creek, Deer Creek, Cottonwood Creek, Moores Creek, Thirtytwo Mile Creek, Prairie Creek, Turkey Creek, Middle Branch Thompson Creek, West and East Branch Thompson Creek, Warm Slough, Lincoln Creek, Silver Creek, Pawnee Creek, Box Elder Creek, Prairie Slough and Elk Creek. - Some locations that could experience flooding include... Grand Island, Minden, St. Paul, Gibbon, Ravenna, Wood River, Shelton, Kenesaw, Doniphan, Cairo, Juniata, Alda, Campbell, Dannebrog, Holstein, Howard City, Upland, Heartwell, Prosser and Norman. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
