Several consecutive days of well above normal temperatures will
lead to the potential thawing of area rivers. This process could
result in the formation of localized ice jams, resulting in water
level fluctuations of 1 to 3 feet over short periods of time.
While no ice movement has been reported, this possibility is
expected to increase over the upcoming weekend. Please report the
observance of flooding along the Platte or Loup rivers to the
National Weather Service in Hastings.
