The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has issued a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect from 10 AM to 11 PM MST Friday. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire weather zones 434, 435, 417, 418. * WIND...Gusts 40 to 60 mph. * HUMIDITY...RH values 15 to 30%. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. Although conditions will be borderline, a lack of significant precipitation combined with the high winds in the region will create a critical fire weather environment. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior. &&

Strong cross winds will be hazardous to light weight or high profile vehicles, including campers and tractor trailers. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Wildfires will have the potential to spread rapidly in these conditions. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected or occurring.
