The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect from 11 AM to 5 PM MST Saturday.

* AFFECTED AREA...The Nebraska panhandle.

* WIND...Northwest winds at 20 to 30 MPH with gusts to 45 MPH.

* HUMIDITY...10 to 15 percent.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.

...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 11 PM THIS EVENING TO 10 AM
MST SATURDAY...

* WHAT...For the High Wind Warning, northwest winds 35 to 45 mph
with gusts up to 75 mph. Strong winds will also cause areas of
blowing dust, which could severely reduce visibility. For the Cold
Weather Advisory, very cold wind chills as low as 30 below
expected.

* WHERE...Dawes County and Northern Sioux County.

* WHEN...For the High Wind Warning, until 5 PM MST this afternoon.
For the Cold Weather Advisory, from 11 PM this evening to 10 AM
MST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Mainly to transportation. Strong cross winds will be
hazardous to light weight or high profile vehicles, including
campers and tractor trailers. The dangerously cold wind chills as
low as 30 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as
little as 30 minutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong gusty winds combined with low humidity
and very dry fuels will produce conditions favorable for the rapid
spread of grassland wildfires.
