...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO MIDNIGHT MDT THURSDAY NIGHT FOR LOW HUMIDITY, BREEZY CONDITIONS AND POOR OVERNIGHT HUMIDITY RECOVERIES FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES 436 AND 437... The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has issued a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect from noon today to midnight MDT Thursday night. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire weather zones 436 and 437. * WIND...For Wednesday, south winds 20 to 25 MPH with gusts up to 35 MPH. For Thursday, westerly to west-northwesterly winds 20 to 25 MPH with gusts up to 40 MPH. * HUMIDITY...For Wednesday, 15 to 20 percent. For Thursday, 8 to 12 percent. * IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...There is a slight chance for scattered showers and storms during Wednesday afternoon and evening. The main concern with these storms will be gusty and erratic winds as well as dry lightning. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly.
