...A SNOW SQUALL WILL AFFECT PARTS OF OTOE...GAGE...PAWNEE... LANCASTER...JOHNSON...NEMAHA...AND RICHARDSON COUNTIES... HAZARDS...A band of heavy snow accompanied by winds of up to 50 to 60 MPH which can rapidly reduce visibility to less than one mile. LOCATION AND MOVEMENT...At 1226 PM CST, a band of heavy snow was along a line extending from 3 miles south of Syracuse to 5 miles northeast of Lewiston to 3 miles northeast of Oketo and moving east at 40 MPH. THIS BAND WILL BE NEAR... Tecumseh, Cook, and Burchard around 1230 PM CST. Talmage, Summerfield, and Elk Creek around 1235 PM CST. Pawnee City, Johnson, Table Rock, and Brock around 1240 PM CST. Julian around 1245 PM CST. Auburn around 1250 PM CST. Humboldt and Du Bois around 1255 PM CST. Peru around 100 PM CST. Stella, Nemaha, Dawson, and Brownville around 105 PM CST. SAFETY INFO... Use extra caution if you must travel into or through this snow band. Rapid changes in visibility and potentially slick roads may lead to accidents. A rapid drop in temperature may cause black ice to form on roadways. Black ice is nearly impossible to see and roadways may appear only wet. Please use extreme caution, especially on bridges, overpasses and around curves.
