...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON CDT /11 AM MDT/ TODAY TO 9 PM CDT /8 PM MDT/ THIS EVENING FOR WIND, LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY, AND DRY THUNDERSTORMS FOR MUCH OF WESTERN AND CENTRAL NORTH DAKOTA... The National Weather Service in Bismarck has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind, low relative humidity, and dry thunderstorms, which is in effect from noon CDT /11 AM MDT/ today to 9 PM CDT /8 PM MDT/ this evening. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. * WINDS...Southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 15 percent. * AFFECTED AREA...Much of western and central North Dakota. * THUNDERSTORMS...Isolated dry thunderstorms possible. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will spread rapidly. Lightning may cause fire starts. Gusty outflow winds may cause fires to spread erratically. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior. &&
