...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 7 PM CDT THIS EVENING FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR MUCH OF EASTERN NORTH DAKOTA AND NORTHWEST AND WEST CENTRAL MINNESOTA... The National Weather Service in Grand Forks has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from 1 PM this afternoon to 7 PM CDT this evening. * AFFECTED AREA...In Minnesota, West Polk, Norman, Clay, Kittson, Roseau, West Marshall, East Marshall, Pennington, Red Lake, East Polk, North Clearwater, Mahnomen, South Clearwater, West Becker, East Becker, Wilkin, West Otter Tail, East Otter Tail and Grant. In North Dakota, Pembina, Eastern Walsh, Nelson, Grand Forks, Griggs, Steele, Traill, Barnes, Cass, Ransom, Sargent, Richland and Western Walsh. * WINDS...Southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 22 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fires that ignite will spread rapidly and become difficult to control. Outdoor burning is not recommended. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly.
