For the Extreme Cold Watch, from Friday afternoon through Sunday morning. * IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 55 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 5 minutes. ...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CST THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Snow showers and areas of blowing snow. Additional snow accumulations up to one inch. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph in southeast North Dakota and southern Red River Valley. * WHERE...Eastern North Dakota and Red River Valley in northwest and west-central Minnesota. * WHEN...Until 6 PM CST this evening. * IMPACTS...Snow showers and blowing snow will lead to areas of quick and sudden reductions to visibility, making travel difficult, especially in rural areas that are prone to blowing snow. Snow showers late morning and afternoon may create brief periods of near blizzard conditions. The hazardous conditions will impact the Wednesday afternoon and evening commutes.
