...INCREASED FIRE DANGER TODAY FROM 11 AM UNTIL 7 PM... Dry and breezy conditions are again expected today across central North Carolina. The combination of blustery winds gusting 20 to 30 mph, very dry air with relative humidity as low as 20 to 30 percent, and ongoing very dry to drought conditions will result in an increased risk of adverse fire behavior today. Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged. Please consult your local burn permitting authorities as to whether burning is allowed today. If you must burn, use extreme caution, as fires can spread rapidly under these conditions.
