...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM EDT THIS MORNING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of eastern North Carolina, including the following counties, Carteret, Craven, Duplin, Greene, Jones, Lenoir, Onslow and Pitt. * WHEN...Until 900 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Overflowing poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 600 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain have fallen in the advisory area. Additional rainfall will exacerbate any ongoing flooding. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Greenville, Jacksonville, New Bern, Kinston, Morehead City, North Topsail Beach, Ayden, Half Moon, Pumpkin Center, Piney Green, New River Station, Camp Lejeune Center, River Bend, Stella, Swansboro, Grifton, Phillips Crossroads, Hubert, Cape Carteret and Richlands. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... ...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of eastern North Carolina, including the following areas, Coastal Onslow, Duplin, Greene, Inland Onslow, Jones and Lenoir. * WHEN...Until 2 PM EDT this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Showers and embedded thunderstorms are expected through this afternoon. Rain may be heavy at times, with excessive rainfall possible. Additional storm total rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected, with localized amounts over 4 inches in heavier banding of showers and storms. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
