At 159 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Snug Harbor to near Belhaven to near Old Ford. Movement was east at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 45 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Belhaven, Pinetown, Ponzer, Pungo, Columbia, Woodley, Pike Road, Leechville, Wenona, Hinson, Newfoundland, Pleasant Grove, Terra Ceia, Scuppernong, Old Ford, Phelps Lake, Pungo Lake, Roper, Long Acre VFD, and Creswell. A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas... Albemarle Sound... At 123 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Edenton to 6 nm west of Highway 94 Bridge, moving east northeast at 25 knots. Locations impacted include... Highway 94 Bridge, Albemarle Sound, and Edenton. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, and lightning strikes.
