...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM THURSDAY TO
8 AM EDT MONDAY...

* WHAT...For the Beach Hazards Statement, dangerous rip
currents. For the Coastal Flood Advisory, 1 to 2 feet of
inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near
shorelines and tidal waterways.

* WHERE...For the Coastal Flood Advisory, areas along Bogue Banks
beaches, Bogue Sound, the Newport and White Oak Rivers, and
adjacent tidal creeks, and areas in North Topsail Beach, the
lower New River, and adjacent tidal creeks. For the Beach
Hazards Statement, Bogue Banks and Onslow County beaches.

* WHEN...For the Beach Hazards Statement, until 8 PM EDT this
evening. For the Coastal Flood Advisory, from 7 AM Thursday to
8 AM EDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...For the Coastal Flood Advisory, up to 1 to 2 feet of
inundation above ground level is possible in low-lying areas
near shorelines and tidal waterways resulting in a low threat
of property damage. Some roads and low lying property
including parking lots, parks, lawns, and homes adjacent to
the waterfront will experience shallow flooding. For the Beach
Hazards Statement, rip currents can sweep even the best
swimmers away from shore into deeper water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A strong coastal storm will develop this
weekend off the North Carolina coast, and has the potential to
bring stronger winds and higher water levels to the area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be
closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of
unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone
property.

Life-threatening rip currents. If caught in a rip current, remain
calm. Swim in a direction following the shoreline. If tired,
float or tread water until out of the rip current. If unable to
escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.

* WHAT...Northeast winds 20 to 30 kt with gusts up to 35 kt and
seas 6 to 9 ft expected.

* WHERE...The coastal waters from Ocracoke Inlet to Surf City.

* WHEN...From 11 AM Thursday to 6 AM EDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous seas which could
capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Gale force winds will be possible again
Saturday into early next week.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions.
Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter course, and/or secure the
