...WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH MONDAY AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Heavy mixed precipitation possible. Total ice accumulations between one quarter and three quarters of an inch possible. Total sleet and snow accumulations up to two inches. * WHERE...All central North Carolina counties not under a Winter Storm Warning. * WHEN...From Saturday afternoon through Monday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Significant ice accumulation on power lines and tree limbs may cause widespread and long-lasting power outages. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Persons are urged to stay indoors until conditions improve. If you must go outside, dress in layers and cover exposed skin to reduce your risk of frostbite or hypothermia. Travel is highly discouraged due to slick roadways and the possibility of downed trees and power lines. Motorists should use extreme caution if travel is absolutely necessary. &&
