...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Portions of north central North Carolina, including the following counties, Stokes and Surry and southwest Virginia, including the following county, Patrick. * WHEN...Until 200 PM EDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 725 AM EDT, emergency management and law enforcement have reported multiple roads closed and possibly damaged within the warning area due to flooding that occurred last night. Most flooding of creeks and rivers has receded, but flooding continues along the Ararat River near the community of Ararat. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Big Creek, Ararat River, Beaver Creek, Archies Creek and Bull Creek. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Mount Airy, Pilot Mountain, Francisco, Woodville, Westfield, Ararat and White Plains. - For flooding safety information, please visit http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... ...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE TONIGHT... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of North Carolina, including the following areas, Alleghany NC, Ashe, Stokes, Surry, Watauga, Wilkes and Yadkin and Virginia, including the following areas, Alleghany VA, Amherst, Bath, Bedford, Botetourt, Carroll, Craig, Floyd, Franklin, Grayson, Henry, Montgomery, Patrick, Roanoke and Rockbridge. * WHEN...Through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible.
