Tyrrell, and Washington Counties, and Hatteras Island, Northern
Outer Banks, and Ocracoke Island.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...A portion of eastern North Carolina, including the
following areas, Beaufort, Hatteras Island, Mainland Dare,
Mainland Hyde, Martin, Northern Outer Banks, Pitt, Tyrrell and
Washington.

* WHEN...From this afternoon through late tonight.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Numerous showers and thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall
rates in excess of 2 inches per hour at times, with
widespread rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches possible, locally
exceeding 4 inches.
