...GALE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 8 PM THIS EVENING TO 2 PM EST FRIDAY... * WHAT...South winds 25 to 35 kt with gusts up to 45 kt and seas 10 to 15 ft expected. * WHERE...The coastal waters from Oregon Inlet to Surf City. * WHEN...From 8 PM this evening to 2 PM EST Friday. * IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous seas which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong southwesterly winds will develop this evening ahead of a strong cold front, lasting into Friday afternoon. The strong winds will lead to a period of elevated seas as well. Thunderstorms developing ahead of the cold front will likely produce areas of enhanced wind gusts. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions. Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter course, and/or secure the vessel for hazardous conditions. &&
