...EXTREME HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM SATURDAY TO 8 PM EDT SUNDAY... ...HEAT ADVISORY WILL EXPIRE AT 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 113 expected. * WHERE...Portions of southeast North Carolina and northeast South Carolina. * WHEN...From 11 AM Saturday to 8 PM EDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sunshine, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. &&

In downtown Wilmington, a block of Water Street observes minor flooding up to one quarter foot in depth. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth.
