...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 945 PM EDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of central North Carolina, including the following counties, Harnett, Hoke, Moore and Randolph. * WHEN...Until 945 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 642 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated showers with very heavy rainfall training or moving over the same area repeatedly. Overflowing poor drainage areas will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Southern Pines, Carthage, North Carolina Zoo, Pinehurst, Aberdeen, Seagrove, Whispering Pines, Ramseur, Pinebluff, Robbins, Foxfire, Taylortown, Vass, Cameron, Seven Lakes, Highfalls, Glendon, Eagle Springs, Ashley Heights and Coleridge. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... ...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH TUESDAY MORNING... * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of central North Carolina, including the following counties, Alamance, Anson, Chatham, Cumberland, Davidson, Forsyth, Guilford, Harnett, Hoke, Lee, Montgomery, Moore, Randolph, Richmond, Scotland and Stanly. * WHEN...Through Tuesday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Repeated rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected through early Tuesday.
