...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO NOON
MST SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Very cold wind chills between 25 and 35 below zero expected.

* WHERE...Central and Southern Valley, Dawson, Eastern Roosevelt,
McCone, Northern Phillips, Richland, Western Roosevelt, and Wibaux
Counties.

* WHEN...From 7 PM this evening to noon MST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 35 below zero
could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes.
Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is
exposed to these temperatures. Very cold temperatures can lead to
hypothermia with prolonged exposure.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.

Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Make sure outdoor animals have a warm, dry shelter, food, and
unfrozen water.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.

...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 8 AM
MST SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations around 6
inches, especially in southern Wibaux County.

* WHERE...Wibaux County, primarily the southern half.

* WHEN...From 10 PM this evening to 8 AM MST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be very difficult.
The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning and
evening commutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Also, recent snow melt and rain will suddenly
freeze with a quick drop in temperatures from the north beginning
this afternoon and evening.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions for
the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.

Persons should consider delaying all travel. Motorists should use
