TONIGHT...

* WHAT...Very hot daytime temperatures combined with warm overnight
lows will produce cumulative heat stress.

* WHERE...Portions of central, south central, and southeast Montana.

* WHEN...Until midnight MDT tonight.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
extreme heat events.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...It will be very hot today with high
temperatures of 96 to 103.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, plan outdoor activities during the early morning and late
evening hours, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall from thunderstorms is
possible.

* WHERE...Portions of central and south central Montana, including
the following areas, in central Montana, Golden Valley, Judith Gap,
Musselshell and Southern Wheatland. In south central Montana, Crazy
Mountains, Melville Foothills, Northeastern Yellowstone, Northern
Stillwater, Northern Sweet Grass and Southwestern Yellowstone.

* WHEN...From 3 PM MDT this afternoon through this evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may
occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Scattered thunderstorms with the potential to produce very heavy
rainfall are expected late this afternoon through the evening.
Heavy rain from thunderstorms is possible again on Wednesday.
