* At 627 PM MDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 10 miles north of Hays to 10 miles southeast of
Mosby, moving northeast at 50 mph.

HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
roofs, and outbuildings.

Malta, Jordan, Winnett, Zortman, Dodson, Sand Springs, Fourchette,
U L Bend Rec Area, Hillside, Brusett, Crooked Creek Rec Area,

* WHAT...West winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 65 mph expected.

* WHERE...Central and Southeast Phillips, Central and Southern
Valley, Garfield, Northern Phillips, Northern Valley, Petroleum,
and Southwest Phillips Counties.

* WHEN...Until midnight MDT Thursday Night.

* IMPACTS...Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines.
Widespread power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult,
especially for high profile vehicles.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Showers and/or thunderstorms in the area will
likely produce the highest wind gusts this evening. These gusts
could reach 80 mph.

* AFFECTED AREA...Fire weather zones 120, 122, 134, 135, 136,
and 137.

* WIND...Southeast at 15 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph, then
suddenly switching to the West beginning this evening.

* HUMIDITY...As low as 12 percent today. 20 percent Thursday.

* THUNDERSTORMS...Isolated late-day thunderstorms possible.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.
