...HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 5 AM MONDAY TO 8 AM MST TUESDAY... ...HIGH WIND WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY EVENING THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING... * WHAT...For the High Wind Warning, southwest winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 85 mph along and west of Highway 89 and up to 70 mph elsewhere. For the High Wind Watch, southwest winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 85 mph possible along and west of Highway 89 and up to 70 mph elsewhere. * WHERE...Southern Rocky Mountain Front and adjacent foothills and plains, Eastern Glacier, Western Toole, and Central Pondera Counties, and Eastern Toole and Liberty Counties. * WHEN...For the High Wind Warning, from 5 AM Monday to 8 AM MST Tuesday. For the High Wind Watch, from Tuesday evening through Wednesday evening. * IMPACTS...High winds may move loose debris, damage property and cause power outages. Travel could be difficult to dangerous, especially for high profile vehicles. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Multiple high wind periods are expected this week as a series of weather disturbances move across the Northern Rockies and Montana. Strong winds initially develop Monday along the east slopes of the Rockies and spread east Monday night. A second and potentially stronger wind event is possible Tuesday night through Wednesday. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... People are urged to secure loose objects that could be blown around or damaged by the wind. Remember, a High Wind Warning means that there is at least an 80% chance of 40 mph sustained winds or 58 mph wind gusts occurring during the warning period.
