...HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 3 AM WEDNESDAY TO MIDNIGHT MST WEDNESDAY NIGHT... * WHAT...West winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 75 mph expected. Isolated gusts in excess of 85 mph will be possible in wind prone areas. * WHERE...Portions of central and southwest Montana. * WHEN...From 3 AM Wednesday to midnight MST Wednesday Night. * IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Power outages are expected. Isolated blowing snow in the mountains and dust at lower elevations will cause areas of poor visibility. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...This is a dangerous situation! This windstorm will be reminiscent of the January 2021 windstorm. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... People are urged to secure loose objects that could be blown around or damaged by the wind. If at all possible, consider delaying travel during the period of highest winds or finding an alternate route. Remember, a High Wind Warning means that there is at least an 80% chance of 40 mph sustained winds or 58 mph wind gusts occurring during the warning period. &&

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM MST WEDNESDAY... * WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations up to 6 inches. Winds gusting as high as 75 mph. * WHERE...The Mountains of Southwestern Montana south of Interstate 90, and Little Belt and Highwood Mountains. * WHEN...Until 11 PM MST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. Very strong winds could cause extensive tree damage. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Slow down and use caution while traveling. The latest road conditions can be obtained by calling 5 1 1 or visiting the MDT Road Report website. Remember, a Winter Weather Advisory means that there is at least an 80% chance of minor impacts due to winter weather conditions during the advisory period. &&
