MORNING FOR SOUTHEASTERN HARRISON AND SOUTHWESTERN JACKSON
COUNTIES...

At 1234 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain across the warned area. Between 2.5 and 7 inches of rain have
fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in
the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Gulfport, Biloxi, Ocean Springs, St. Martin, D'iberville, Latimer,
Gulf Hills, Gulf Park Estates, Lyman and Gulfport Airport.

Due to already very saturated grounds and high rivers, any additional
rainfall will quickly turn to run off and lead to flash flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

* Until 130 AM CDT.

* At 1156 PM CDT, a cluster of severe thunderstorms capable of
producing waterspouts was located along a line extending from near
Gulf Park Estates to 6 nm northeast of Cat Island to near Bay St.
Louis to 7 nm southeast of Rigolets. The cluster of severe
thunderstorms were nearly stationary.

HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts to 40 knots.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Waterspouts can quickly form and capsize boats...damage
vessels and oil rigs...and create suddenly higher waves.
Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
suddenly higher waves.

* Locations impacted include...
Cat Island, Mississippi Sound, Pascagoula, Horn Island, Ship
Island, Chandeleur Sound, and Gulf Park Estates.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Strong winds will be dangerous for boaters or anyone near the water.
Make sure all on board are wearing life jackets. Seek shelter or move
to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Northern Jackson County in southern Mississippi...

* WHEN...Until 245 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Overflowing poor drainage areas. Some low-water crossings may
become impassable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1147 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Up to 2.5 inches of rain have
fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Vancleave, Wade, Hurley and Big Point.
- Due to already very saturated grounds and high rivers, any
additional rainfall will quickly turn to run off and may lead to
some flooding.

24 feet the bridge becomes inaccessible by vehicles.

- At 8:15 PM CDT Friday the stage was 24.2 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to remain steady above flood
stage at 24.0 to 24.5 feet.
